All eco-parks, trekking paths and four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle routes in Johor forest reserves will be closed to the public from tomorrow.
Johor State Forestry Department Director (JPNJ), Datuk Salim Aman said the closure was a precautionary measure to prevent any unwanted incidents or accidents from occurring during the monsoon season.
He said the closure will remain in place until a date to be announced later.
“Eco parks, trekking paths and 4WD vehicle routes in the forest reserves throughout the state will be closed to visitors from tomorrow.
“It is an initial precautionary measure to prevent untoward incidents during the rainy season or monsoon.
“Any violation of the directive will be dealt with under the Johor State Forestry (Utilisation) Enactment 1985,” he said today.
Salim said the closure notice was announced on the department’s official social media pages.
