Albania has decided to open an embassy in Azerbaijan. According to Interfax-Azerbaijan, the corresponding decision was made by the Council of Ministers of Albania on the basis of the proposal of the head of the Albanian Foreign Ministry.
The diplomatic mission of Albania will be in Baku.
The costs of opening an embassy in Azerbaijan will be covered by the budget of the Albanian Foreign Ministry for 2023. The document entered into force on March 1, 2023.
As previously reported, on November 18, 2022, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a law on the establishment of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Albania (in Tirana).
